As the number of Muslims in Athlone & surrounding has grown rapidly over the last number of years, more mosques and prayer halls have been established to cater to their needs.

Please note the following guidelines to help make your ceremony run smoothly:

• Mosque Visits

  The Rumi Foundation Ireland welcomes visits to the Mosque/Muslim Prayer halls by schools, colleges, groups, and all other interested organisations.

  There is no charge for such visits. Usually, a visit takes around 30 minutes and includes a description of the Muslim Prayer hall / Mosque as well as a brief talk on the main tenants of Islam followed by questions and answers.

  Currently, due to Covid-19, the visit is restricted and it will open once we have the right government regulation permitting such visits.
